Digital skills and entrepreneurship for economic empowerment

 This program empowers township women and youth-owned small businesses with ICT repair and business  skills. It supports them to overcome barriers to market entry to market in the IT sector and access to in-kind capital, increasing their incomes, while promoting environmental sustainability. 


This program was developed in 2018 to address these challenges by empowering IT-related youth and women-led start-ups and pre-startups in the. Since 2019, the program has trained and supported over 120 IT repair micro-businesses, 65 of which are very successful and sustainable. These businesses have contributed to job creation, poverty alleviation, and environmental sustainability through e-waste recycling and IT repair services.
