Recyclebot builders Program

Innovating STEM Education for Underserved Communities

Recyclebot Builders empowers South African children and youth in under-resourced communities with hands-on STEM education. Using innovative and affordable materials, the program makes robotics and coding accessible to all, inspiring the next generation of creative problem-solvers.

Already reaching over 1,000 learners in six schools in the Eastern Cape, the program has received overwhelming positive feedback from schools, teachers, parents, and learners. Key impacts include:

  • Improved motor skills and learner participation.
  • Heightened interest in STEAM and gains in other subjects.
  • A Hands-On Approach to STEM

The program makes use of a combination of recycled materials with affordable robotics kits for STEM  inclusivity.

It also uses play-based learning methods, storytelling, and simple coding languages for easy comprehension.

To ensure sustainability and scalability we partner with local schools and the Department of Education.

The program culminates in the Schools Robotics Fest, a two-day celebration of creativity and skills.
